Murder happens on a daily basis in this world. Be it by a gunshot, a terrorist bombing – or an incurable disease – at least one person’s life ends every twenty-four hours. But while these people pass away by many different means – to me, the worst kind of death is murder – and the worst kind of murder is not committed by man – it is committed by Cancer.

Cancer – a disease that is so horrible, so powerful – and so deadly that even our most advanced medical knowledge – which enables us to perform such feats as transplanting vital organs, restoring mortally wounded people back to normal – and even cloning living creatures – can not prevent or cure. Sure it can be treated and even put into remission – but only by subjecting the patient to horrible chemotherapy that makes them get violently ill and lose all of their body hair. And despite having to endure chemotherapy – it sometimes doesn’t even work.

I don’t care if someone is put into a meat grinder face first – to me – there is no worse way to die then from Cancer.

I have known friends of mine that have had family members suffer and even die from Cancer. I have watched helplessly as members of my own family battled Cancer – and I have lost one of the greatest friends I ever had to Cancer.

Bottom line – Cancer must be stopped – now.

I realize that there are other diseases in the world like multiple sclerosis, Sclerederma – and even AIDS – but almost every family I know has had someone suffer from Cancer – which means that it is more common then we all even realized. Think about it – can you name one family – including your own – that has not had Cancer effect someone? If you can – I bet it’s not more then three families. That is a red flag that this disease is common, unstoppable – and incurable.

No one can explain the pain of a having to watch someone you love struggle to fight Cancer. No matter how much you love them, how much you pray for them – or how much you would give to take their pain away – there is nothing you can do but watch your loved one go through a biological battle – and hope they live through it.

I know that organizations, celebrities – and special stamps ensure that money goes to cancer research – but it’s not enough. If you can spare the amount of money it would cost you for a new pair of jeans, or the latest CD by your favorite band – or the new wrestling shirt that you can’t buy for your best friend – because he died of Cancer – take that money no matter how much it is and donate it to Cancer research.

Do it for my mother and sister. Do it for Bradd Beck. Do it for Michael Greenlee – a member of my South Park Digest that has become the latest person I know to fall victim to Cancer. Do it for the toddler I met today that has Cancer – and do it for the acquaintance, friend – or loved one you know that prays every day for a cure that we have not found yet to the pain they are suffering – because we have to beat this disease – before it beats us.
