Do You Love Yourself?
By Paul Wein
Do you love yourself? Do you like the person you are? The person you have become? Are you the person today that you hoped you would always be?
No matter who you are and what you have become -- if you do not love yourself -- who you are and what you have become means nothing. For self love is the greatest love of all -- because without self love -- no one else can love you.
Personally, I am very much in love with myself -- not in a narcissistic sense -- but in a person sense. I am happy with who I am now and what I have become -- and I truly believe that this is why I am so successful and why I am living the greatest year of my life -- because I finally believe in myself and feel strong enough about myself that I know I can accomplish anything.
Do you?
I am sorry to say that I know a few people that are completely unhappy with themselves and their lives. These people are acquaintances, friends -- and even co-workers. Just from visual observation -- I can tell that the fact that these people do not like themselves has resulted in their lives not being fully fulfilled. One person I know who does not like themselves is unemployed and has absolutely no career ahead of him -- because he feels he can not get along with others. Another "self-unhappy" person I know has a horrible home life -- and takes it out on everyone she encounters. And yet someone else that is blatantly unhappy with their lives has been alone for years -- and has yet to find a mate since I made their acquaintance years ago. I feel that the reason for these people's unhapiness can be blamed solely upon their lack of self-esteem -- which to me -- is the ultimate self-masochism.
I truly believe in my heart that if these people I know just take the time to love themselves and appreciate who they are and what they have become -- then their lives will instantly beocme more tolerant, more enjoyable -- and certainly more successful.
If you have not taken the time to get to know yourself and appreciate yourself for who and what you are -- please take some time in the near future to do so -- and when you finally realize what a good person you are -- you'll be very surprised at -- and very happy with the results.
