A Penny For My Thoughts

America On The Road - In 37 Years

By Paul Wein

I know that being only 28, it's way to early for me to talk about retirement. But the funny thing is that even though I have 37 years until I can officially retire - I know exactly how I plan to spend my retirement.

Some people see retirement as the time in life where you finally get to relax and spend your time at home resting out the rest of your years - not me. There is only one way that I can see spending retirement, the only true way to get the best out of the rest of your life - instead of spending my life at home - I plan to buy a motor home and spend the rest of my years on the road of life - on the road of life.

As silly as that sounds - that is precisely what I plan to do. I will purchase a standard motor home, fill it with whatever I would need - and spend the rest of my life traveling across America with no destination, time schedule, or place to return to - now that's the life.

Think about it. I'd never have to worry about getting anywhere on time - because I would have all the time in the world. I would never have worry about having to travel back home - because my "home" would travel with me. And best of all, I would never get lost - because I would never have a destination. I would just spend the rest of my life seeing all the places in this great country that I never had the opportunity to see when I was working. Now that is what I call "living" out the rest of your life.

While some people may think that my idea is a little strange, I don't care. All I know is that while I look forward to the rest of my life with a tremendous amount of anticipation, I can't wait to spend my last few years traveling across America in a mobile home with no cares, worries - or schedules.

Only 37 years to go.
