Who is the one person in your life that you love more than anyone else? The one person in your life that loves you unconditionally? The one who loves you no matter what, who will always be there for you, and never even asks for a thank you? I don’t know what your answer is, but mine is my mother.

Since the day I was born, she has been the most loving, kind mother anyone can ask for – and that love has only grown throughout my life. And since my father died in 1981, she has had to spend the last 18 years being two parents instead of one – and she has done a flawless job. Even though she had to practically raise me on her own. I never went without a thing, always had everything I have ever wanted, and grown up to be a very kind, caring, sensitive, loving person – traits that I attribute to the way my mother raised me.

As a child, I put her through a lot: always asking if my friends can either eat and/or sleep over; constantly asking her to spend money on something, whether it was on a Star Wars this or a World Wrestling Federation that; and occasionally borrowing money from her until the next time I got paid. No matter what, she was – and still is – always there for me, no questions asked.

I recently moved back in with my mother, and you know what, I love it. I love it because with my job, my TV show and my friends, I am too busy to spend time with myself much less anyone else, but now that we live together, we see each other every day which has brought us even closer – if that’s possible.

Just a reminder that no matter what we choose to do with our lives or whom we choose to spend our lives with, the first person to show us real love is our mothers. They were there from the first day we were born and they will be there for us for the rest of their lives. So cherish your mother and show her the love she has always shown you, because you only have one mother, and there is nothing like a mother’s love.

And mom, thanks for being the mother you are. I am the person I am today because of you. I love you.
