There are some sick crimes in this world – from murder, to rape, to armed robbery. But of all the crimes in this world – no crime is worse than pedophilia…

…and as much as our society finds it deplorable – no one is doing anything to stop it.

Every time I watch the news, I hear yet another story about someone caught with images or videos of children – children – engaged in pornographic acts. Or worse – I see a story of a child abducted and raped – although they are actually the same thing – my stomach turns. I wondered how these sick people get their hands on such smut – and how society allows it…

…but with a few clicks of a mouse – I myself found it was all too easy.

I belong to a Peer-To-Peer (P2P) community that shares files. In that community, I have downloaded music, movies – and great clips from some of my favorite shows. I even downloaded some software that has been very helpful.

But tonight, having the desire to write this column based on recent events – and curious to see just how easy it was to download child pornography – I searched for it…

…and had the ability to download it in minutes.

In order to properly write this column, I did, in fact, download some of these videos. I will say, for the record, that in no way did I do so for sexual pleasure, but only to actually see what these sickos put these children through – and immediately deleted what I downloaded after viewing it because I was simply trying to get a perspective as to what these creeps enjoy to write this column. As a guy, I will truthfully admit that I have downloaded adult pornography in the past – but when I downloaded and watched these videos of child pornography – they made me do only one thing…

…throw up.

For the life of me, I cannot wrap my head around the idea of someone finding a child sexually attractive. Moreover, what simply amazes me is how someone like me – who has absolutely no interest in pedophilia – can find and download these videos so easily.

In the days before the Internet, pedophiles had no choice but to peddle their disgusting wares out of the trunk of their cars as reported – today, however – its open season on the Information Superhighway – so why are they allowed to get away with it?

Among the videos I was able to download (Again, strictly for this column – or I would be insane to admit it) was, “6Yo Baby - Bedtime Rape Until Cum,” “Underage Dee & Desi 8,” and “Vicky Willing Bed Rape 11 Yr Old.” I am sure you can imagine my distain – because I am sure you feel it too – but at least you didn’t have to watch it as I did.

Immediately after watching these horrifying images – I sent an e-mail to LimeWire – the P2P source that I love for music and movies – informing them that their software is being used for illegal activities – and letting them know that they should immediately shut down and/or delete those responsible for these acts of pedophilia. I also obviously deleted these sick and atrocious videos from my computer – and literally made the sign of the Cross that I even downloaded them in the first place – but did so to prove my point…

…that pedophiles see the Internet not as the Information Superhighway – but as a window to promote their horror – and make it accessible to pedophiles, scum, vermin…

…and innocent people like you and me – who can find their filth with a simple click of a mouse.

Incidentally, I sent an e-mail to LimeWire expressing my concern. Verbatim, the e-mail said:

“Do you realize that your P2P tool is being used to offer CHILD PORNOGRAPHY!? I was able to download it in SECONDS! I am a journalist who wrote a column called ‘PedoFAILlia’ and it is published on my website and mentions your site as a window for this kind of FILTH! You should take better measures to filter out that kind of SMUT! SHAME ON YOU!”

I once saw an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit where Detective Elliot Stabler, played by Christopher Meloni, was talking to his 15-year-old daughter about Internet safety. She expressed anger that he was hounding her about the sites she visited and reading her e-mails – and he said to her, “You know how I lock all the doors and windows to keep pedophiles out.” To which she agreed. He then pointed to the computer and said…

…”Now they’re coming in through here.”
